About the Artist

Catherine V. Holmes celebrates painting by crafting works that explore many artistic personalities with an impressionistic feel that cannot be tied down to a specific style. Holmes has pursed a number of recent projects ranging from old world Faux Frescoes to complex architectural works to splashy expressionistic aerial interpretations of seaside towns. This is a small component of her broader examination of the continuing possibilities in creativity and in evoking a response from the eye of the beholder.

The artist explains:

“To paint is to journey through the creation of a piece, exploring the process along the way and provoking emotion with the end result. My intention through art is to ignite conversation, make visual surroundings more interesting and most of all . . . to make people smile.”

Always enjoying the challenges of new subject matter and artistic concepts, Holmes' artwork is ever-changing. Her work has won numerous awards and her paintings are owned by private individuals as well as corporate collectors.
