Artist Statement

Artist Statement
"As an artist, I am given the opportunity to present feelings, ideas, places and experiences from my perspective. I can be inspired by almost any source, from the graceful bend of a tree to the rigid man-made forms or architecture. My artistic response to that inspiration is presented through an impressionistic style complemented by influences of realism. My goal is to expose the complementary union of light, movement, balance and rhythm of the subject.

When I paint, it is a journey in creative exploration. I enjoy the problems I encounter along the way as well as the end result. I paint when thousands of ideas are rushing through my head pushing to the front of the line trying to be the first to get out. I also paint when there is not a single thought to be found. No matter what the reason,  I lose myself and connect to the creative flow.

Some element of spiritual energy and sensitivity is stamped into every art piece I create. There is an active vibration emanating from it - almost alive - and a piece of me is retained within the canvas. I believe that it is this essence which makes an original work of art so valuable. To appreciate art and aesthetic beauty, one must connect with what they see. The impact of a great piece varies from one viewer to another. Each of my paintings portrays it’s own story, offering a brief glimpse into my creative thought process."
